Child and Family Counseling is offered at Dorchester Counseling Services, a division of Dorchester Alcohol and Drug Commission, by our licensed, highly skilled therapists who specialize in child/ adolescent therapy.
Our clinicians will work with you and your child to develop a treatment plan that may include individual, group, and/or family therapy in order to meet your child’s needs. Individual counseling is provided to treat problems such as school-related issues, trauma, grief, self-esteem, behavioral problems, substance abuse and other significant issues and challenges facing children and teens as they develop.
Family therapy is often essential in supporting a child in therapy and/or to address family systems problems. Our quality professionals will help you to understand patterns within your family and teach tools to improve communication and interactions, support parenting strategies and refer to community resources as needed.
Dorchester Counseling Services accepts Medicaid, Medicare and some private insurance. For those without insurance coverage, we offer payment plans based on a sliding fee scale. Please call to schedule an appointment. Daytime and evening appointments are available.
